Welcome to Multi (“we,” “our,” or “us”). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share, and protect your personal information when you use the Multi app and related services (collectively, the “Platform”). By using Multi, you agree to the practices described in this policy.
1. INFORMATION WE COLLECT
1.1 Account Information
- Full name, username, and profile photo
- Email address and phone number
- Date of birth (to verify you are 21 or older)
- Login credentials, including social login tokens (Google, Apple, etc.)
- Profile bio, preferences, and settings
1.2 Location Data
- City and state-level location, used to match you with nearby users and show relevant local content
- Location is collected only while the app is open and in use
- You may disable location permissions at any time in your device settings; this will limit certain matching features
- We do not share your precise location with other users — only approximate distance or general area is displayed on your profile
1.3 User Content
- Photos, videos, bios, and profile information you upload
- Messages, comments, and interactions with other users
- Content you post publicly on the Platform
1.4 Payment Information
- Subscription tier and billing history
- Subscriptions may be processed through Apple In-App Purchase and managed through RevenueCat
- Multi does not receive or store full payment card information
1.5 Device & Usage Information
- IP address and approximate location derived from IP
- Device type, operating system, and app version
- Pages viewed, features used, time spent, and clickstream data
- Crash reports and performance diagnostics
1.6 Cookies & Tracking Technologies
We and our third-party partners use cookies, pixels, and similar tracking technologies to:
- Keep you logged in
- Remember your preferences
- Analyze app usage via tools like Google Analytics and Firebase
- Improve app performance and features
You may control cookie preferences through your browser or device settings. Disabling certain cookies may affect Platform functionality.
2. HOW WE USE YOUR INFORMATION
We use the information we collect to:
- Create, verify, and manage your account
- Match you with other Multi users based on location, preferences, and profile data
- Enable messaging, video chat, and other communication features
- Process subscription payments and manage billing
- Send you notifications, updates, and service-related communications
- Enforce our Terms of Service and Community Guidelines
- Detect, prevent, and investigate fraud, abuse, or illegal activity
- Improve, personalize, and develop new Platform features
- Comply with legal obligations
3. SHARING OF INFORMATION
3.1 With Other Users
Your profile information — including your name, photos, bio, preferences, and approximate distance — may be visible to other users based on your privacy settings.
3.2 With Service Providers
We share data with trusted third-party vendors who help us operate the Platform, including:
- Subscription and billing management (Apple In-App Purchase, RevenueCat)
- Cloud hosting and storage providers (e.g., AWS)
- Analytics providers (e.g., Google Analytics, Firebase)
- Customer support tools
These providers are contractually bound to use your data only to provide services to us and not for their own purposes.
3.3 Legal Compliance & Safety
We may disclose your information if required by law, court order, or government authority, or if we believe disclosure is necessary to:
- Protect the rights, safety, or property of Multi, our users, or the public
- Detect or prevent fraud or security issues
- Respond to emergency situations
3.4 Moderation & Reporting
When users submit reports regarding profiles, messages, photos, or behavior, Multi may review relevant content to investigate violations of our Terms, Community Guidelines, or applicable law. This review may be conducted by trained staff or automated systems, or both. Content reviewed for moderation purposes is handled confidentially and is not used for any other purpose.
3.5 Business Transfers
If Multi is acquired, merged, or its assets are sold, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. You will be notified via email or in-app notification before your data becomes subject to a different privacy policy.
3.6 We Do Not Sell Your Data
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties for their own marketing or advertising purposes.
4. DATA RETENTION
- Active account data is retained as long as your account is open
- After account deletion, most personal data is purged within 30 days
- Payment records are retained for up to 7 years to comply with financial and tax regulations
- Messages may be retained for up to 90 days after deletion for safety and abuse investigation purposes, then permanently deleted
- Data subject to legal holds or active investigations may be retained longer as required by law
5. DATA SECURITY
We take reasonable and appropriate measures to protect your personal information, including:
- Encrypted connections (TLS/SSL) for all data in transit
- Encrypted storage for sensitive data at rest
- Access controls limiting employee access to personal data
- Regular security assessments and monitoring
No system is 100% secure. In the event of a data breach affecting your personal information, we will notify affected users within 72 hours in accordance with applicable law.
6. YOUR RIGHTS & CHOICES
You have the following rights regarding your personal data:
- Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
- Correction: Request that inaccurate or incomplete data be corrected
- Deletion: Request deletion of your account and personal data
- Portability: Request your data in a portable format
- Opt-Out: Unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time via the unsubscribe link
- Location: Disable location access at any time in your device settings

7. CALIFORNIA RESIDENTS — CCPA RIGHTS
If you are a California resident, you have the following additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA):
- Right to Know: You may request details about the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you, the sources of that information, the purposes for which it is used, and the categories of third parties with whom it is shared.
- Right to Delete: You may request deletion of personal information we have collected, subject to certain exceptions.
- Right to Correct: You may request correction of inaccurate personal information.
- Right to Opt-Out of Sale or Sharing: We do not sell or share your personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. You are not required to opt out because we do not engage in these practices.
- Right to Non-Discrimination: We will not discriminate against you for exercising your CCPA rights.

8. CHILDREN’S PRIVACY
Multi is intended for users who are 21 years of age or older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age of 21. If we discover that a minor has created an account, we will immediately terminate the account and delete all associated data. If you believe a minor has provided us with personal information, please contact us at support@themulticollective.com.
9. THIRD-PARTY LINKS & SERVICES
The Platform may contain links to third-party websites or integrate with third-party services (e.g., social login providers). We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those third parties. We encourage you to review their privacy policies before sharing your information with them.
10. CHANGES TO THIS POLICY
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will notify you via email or an in-app notification at least 30 days before the changes take effect. Your continued use of the Platform after the effective date of the updated policy constitutes your acceptance of the changes.
11. GOVERNING LAW
This Privacy Policy is governed by the laws of the state in which Multi’s LLC is registered, without regard to conflict of law provisions.
